I wheeled them in Moab with great success. The massive sidewalls have repelled jagged limeston rocks, tree roots, stuff that has carved grooves into my bead lock rings have not yet punctured the sidewall. I typically go down to 4psi with them which makes them wrap beautifully. ![]() but I agree with Dynatrac when they said you have to air them down more. Off road they are perfect for most of the wheeling I do. they don't crab walk like a Super Swamper does. not anything more than any other aggressive tire I've been on. I never once had a problem with them even on the highway hitting a flooded lane. The Nittos are very "round" and balance easily. on heavier rigs like full size and duallys I have heard they can wear alot faster. They wear awesome, especially on lighter vehicles like Jeeps. They perform great on the road, are quiet, and worked amazingly off road in mud, sand, rocks, ect.īetween the two I think that the MTR/K looks more like an off road purpose built tire than the Mud Grappler. If the MTRs had been in stock that's the route I would have gone, hands down. MTRs were back ordered so I decided to give the Nitto Trail Grappler a shot. I ran the MTR/Ks on my JK for about 15K miles and would still have them if I hadn't decided I wanted to go to 37/17 on it. Ha ha! Mud Grapplers and tire shine when together like peanut butter and jelly! That was the mentality when they came out anyway. When I ran them they were more of a show truck tire and I never thought of them as anything that I'd ever put on a Jeep for actual off road use. Ha ha! Not a big deal to most, but I conducted a lot of business while on the road at the time and it just didn't work.Īs far as off road capability, I see a lot of people here running them but I have not used them off road. As they wore they got louder and louder and louder to the point that I couldn't talk on the phone inside the truck without the other person bitching about me being in an airplane.
